PocketTest 3.14.92 (Shareware)
Pocket Test software is a great way to prepare for any of seven written FAA exams on your Palm OS device.
Features Include: Ability to view overall scores and by section. You can also choose to focus on a specific subject area. If a question is missed it will give you the FAA question number (as well as a detailed answer) so you can review. The following exams are available: Private Pilot, Instrument Pilot, Commercial Pilot, Fundamentals of Instructing, Flight Instructor, Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) and Flight Engineer. The questions are the same as the ones you would see in the Gleim Study Guides.

Review
Pros: Great for studying for your FAA written exam, has the many exam choices for Palm OS, displays exam figures (no need for figures book), written explanations.
Cons: No way to print or export a list of the questions missed, slightly expensive ($$$).
Notes: Use the hardware buttons on the handheld to select the answer.

| "I used PocketTest to prepare for and take my Commercial Pilot written exam and I loved it. I have a busy schedule and the ability to pull it out and run through questions for 5 minutes between appointments, or and hour on a airline flight, made it possible for me to study. I made a 98 on the test, thanks mainly to this product. (As a side benefit, I kept the program updated and used it to "refresh" for the Oral portion of the practical exam, which I also passed.) I've already ordered the program for the FOI part of the CFI exam and will use this for any future tests." | |

| "I think many of these programs are similar in the way they work, however what they don't tell you is this program doesn't work properly with a Palm Tungsten - non of the graphics or charts will display so it was a wasted investment on my part. Developer's Response: "100% Satisfaction Guarantee. Dennis got his money back and pictures now display properly on PalmOS5. This is the only handheld aviation test-prep program that displays figures in the quiz program. The artwork is enhanced for better readability on a small screen." | |
