Pocket PC - Buttons

Pocket Earth is a multi-platform world atlas that shows useful information from around the world.

Features Include: This program is packed with features and information. View sun, moon, sunrise, and sunset information on-top of the 3D world map. The program comes bundled with a city database that contains 36,000+ cities around the world. Each of the cities are editable, plus you can add your own custom locations into the database. The program will calculate the (great circle) distance, direction and time difference between cities around the world. GPS connectivity support is built-in and provides a compass with the current bearing and speed. There is also a option to "Show Time to Destination", this will show how long it would take to reach a destination based on the current speed. There are many customizable options such as weather overlay, historical routes, city information and more. When you click on a city you can view detailed information such as latitude & longitude, daylight savings time (DST), moonrise, sunrise, and city population. The program makes great use of graphics and VGA devices.

Review

Pros: Full-screen support, super graphic quality, quickly calculates distance between places around the world, great tool for learning geography.
Cons: Limited weather reporting, slightly difficult to get started using all of the features, no detailed country information, no airport database.
Platform: None -- Palm OS and Pocket PC have the same features.
Notes: Demo lets you use the program 14 times before you must register. There is also a Palm (PalmEarth) version of this program.
