X-Plane iPhone 9.20 (Retail)

X-Plane for the iPhone and iPod Touch is a powerful, yet portable flight simulator that uses the built-in accelerometer to control the aircraft.

Features Include: Take the controls of a Cessna 172, Columbia 400, Piper Malibu, Cirrus Vision (Jet), Piaggio Avanti (Twin) or a Beech King Air (Twin). You can configure all sorts of settings such as wind, sky condition, region, time of day, and aircraft weight. Once you select a region you can choose a takeoff location or choose to have X-Plane set you up on final for practice landings. There are several view modes to choose from including: inside (forward looking), panel view, as well as a rear and front view from the outside.

What's New: 9.20 - HUD now handles negative elevations better and other minor bug fixes.

Review

Pros: Impressive graphics, practice IFR approaches with full-panel mode, great use of the accelerometer.
Cons: Settings screen will not save aircraft type, etc when you exit the program, force feedback would be nice.

"I have been playing this ever since the first version came out for the iPhone. I really enjoy the flying and realism it provides. I also have a Marware Game Grip that makes flying even more enjoyable. I do wish the program was slightly leaner due to the fact it takes about 30 seconds to load and some pages are slightly slowish. {version 9.07}"
