GPilotS 6.4 (Freeware)
This application uses your PDA to do functions that can be difficult to do on your handheld GPS.
Features Include: Ability to create or edit existing waypoints and routes. You can also sync your handheld device with the GPS or perform a time synchronization. The map display feature will allow you to display the downloaded track and the waypoints. You can sort waypoints by several different criteria.
What's New: 6.4 - Sort by bearing, new waypoint font, Palm OS 5.0 support.

Review
Pros: Calculates distance between points, route map display, stores up to 6000 points.
Cons: Only works with some GPS units.
Notes: Use this application to back-up the information on your handheld GPS.

| "This software is not specially made for pilots, but I use it with immense satisfaction in my route planings and it's working great. The only restriction is the hardware cable to connect the palm with the gps : it is a lot easier with a serial cable (I don't even know if it works with the USB). I would rate this program 4 stars (out of 5) because the pilot needed informations are not included (but as I mentionned this software is not made specially for pilots)" | |
