This on-line tool is useful for getting updated weather, flight planning and other information.
Features Include: Provides distance and time calculation (between two airports), airport (FBO) information, METAR/TAF, NAVAID information, tail number (n-number), flight tracking and more. If you subscribe to the FBOWeb service you can also use the "pay only" features.

Pros: Flight tracking, download METAR/TAF, NAVAID and airport information.
Cons: Some features are not available yet or require you subscribe to monthly service.
Notes: Great tool to supplement weather reporting, flight planning and airport (FBO) research.

| "I really do like this site. I first started using it on the Palm VII, and it was a bit sketchy when I first started, but they improved it drastically. When I switched to the PocketPC, they had a PocketPC version of the site that is a little more in-depth. Right now the thing is invaluable to me... I fly IFR all around Florida, generally a lot of very common flights between airports. This thing is perfect for that... I have a bunch of flight plans on the system that, with my wireless PocketPC, I can pull them up on command - file them, get the weather... and then when the flight is done, I can make a logbook entry for my flight. My wife uses the same site to track me while I'm in the air, so its great. I would definitely recommend at least checking it out... they offer a free trial, all you have to do is ask (that's how I got hooked)." | |
