News: Passenger Skips Security Check, Thus Shutting Down Checkpoint
Posted by Matthew Justice on Feb 22, 2008Ok, here goes another Duh Award. Security checkpoints at Dallas Love Field (DAL) were shut down for about 10 minutes earlier after a passenger set off a checkpoint alarm and then walked away.
According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), a Continental Airlines passenger set off an alarm and then got impatient and walked off instead of waiting for a secondary screening.
Spokeswoman Andrea McCauley said “the checkpoints were shut down for 10 minutes while they detained him and then reopened.” She also could not divulge his name, but said that although there won't be any criminal charges, he may face a civil charge.
