Sonex Aircraft POC Electric Motor ...
Today at Oshkosh, Sonex Aircraft introduced its proof-of-concept (POC) electric motor in a Waiex airframe. “E-flight is a push to explore viable alternative energies for powering sport aircraft and improve the efficiency and performance of current products and technologies to keep aviation affordable and recreational aviation available to future generations of pilots.” said John Monnett president of Sonex Aircraft. This POC demonstrates the potential of compact electric power and advanced-technology batteries.

Sigma-Tek Launches New Attitude Indicator ...
Sigma-Tek will launch its new 5000EG attitude indicator at Booth 2016 in Exhibit Hangar B. The 5000EG is FAA certified as a primary or standby gyro, approved to replace turn coordinators, and available in 14-and 28-volt models.

Small Plane Crashes enroute to Oshkosh ...
A small plane crashed after takeoff from Basel-Mulhose-Freiburg airport in Switzerland. Pilot Hans Georg Schmid was trying to break a world record for a solo single-engine flight over 4,970 miles in 30 hours. The plane was fuelled by 450 gallons of kerosene when it crashed into building and playground. Three people were injured on the ground and Schmid was killed on impact.

Epic Introduces Two New Jets ...
EPIC has announced two new jets, the twin-engine Epic Elite (VLJ) and the single-engine Epic Victory Personal Jet (PJ). The Victory will have a top cruise speed of 320 knots, with a 28,000-foot service ceiling and be priced between $1.3 million and $1.5 million. The Epic Elite will seat six to eight passengers and cruise speed is projected at 412 knots with a service ceiling is 41,000 feet. The price of the production version is estimated to be $2,350,000.
