News: Iron Maiden Lead Singer to Fly Band on Next Tour

Astraeus 757 ...

Bruce Dickinson, the lead singer for Iron Maiden, is a licensed commercial pilot for Astraeus Airlines and he will be piloting his band during their upcoming tour.

In this historic first, Iron Maiden, their 60-strong crew and support staff and over 12 tons of equipment will be travelling around the world for the first leg of the tour in a specially commissioned and converted Astraeus Boeing 757 decorated with Iron Maiden (see photo). During the tour they will be flying over 50,000 miles with Bruce Dickinson as their captain!

That is awesome! Do you mean that he actually flies the line when they are not touring?

I have to admit a soft spot for Maiden ... I think it's great that Bruce is flying them ... Flight Of The Icarus indeed :)
