News: GPS for the iPhone and iPod Touch

PartFoundry has created an add on GPS module for the iPhone and will ship it in February for $89 and the software will be open source allowing new features to easily be added.

It looks as if we may be able to use GPS on the iPhone soon. However, the phone has to be jailbroken, which is something I won't do. Here's the blurb from the site. The site also has a video of the unit in action. No mention of the chipset. locoGPS for the iPhone The iphone GPS module allows jail broken iphones to finally have GPS functionality.
