The Wall Street Journal's Middle Seat blog recently reported on an FAA safety advisory reminding pilots that they, too, have to turn their cell phones off while in flight.

According to the blog, during a safety check, an inspector made note of a pilots phone was left on during takeoff, causing a potentially dangerous distraction, "the ring tone caused a distraction between the crewmembers during the takeoff phase and could have led the crew to initiate an unnecessary rejected takeoff."
