Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) in New Delhi that report for duty may soon have to undergo breath-analyzer tests to make sure they are perfectly sober to perform their duties.

These tests would be similar to alcohol-detection tests that pilots and cabin crew have to undergo and are carried out extensively during festive seasons. Laws (in India) dictate that “pilots, commanders, navigators, engineers and cabin crew are not supposed to have liquor, sedatives, narcotics or stimulants within 12 hours of the flight.”
